RJD के पूर्व सांसद प्रभुनाथ सिंह को SC से मिली उम्रकैद, वोट न देने पर डबल मर्डर के हैं दोषी

आरजेडी के पूर्व सांसद प्रभुनाथ सिंह को सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने उम्रकैद की सजा सुनाई है। उन्हें 1995 में हुए डबल मर्डर केस में यह सजा दी गई है। पिछले दिनों ही शीर्ष अदालत ने उन्हें इस केस में दोषी करार दिया था और सजा को लेकर फैसला सुरक्षित रख लिया था। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने हत्याकांड में मारे गए दोनों लोगों के परिजनों को 10-10 लाख रुपये देने का आदेश भी प्रभुनाथ सिंह और बिहार सरकार को दिया है। इसके अलावा इस घटना में जख्मी हुए एक शख्स को भी 5 लाख रुपये की आर्थिक मदद देने का आदेश दिया गया है।
क्यों पूर्व सांसद ने करा दी थी दो लोगों की हत्या
पूर्व सांसद को मिली यह सजा इसलिए भी अहम है क्योंकि उन्हें निचली अदालत ने बरी कर दिया था और फिर हाई कोर्ट ने भी उसे सही करार दिया था। छपरा के मसरख में राजेंद्र राय और दारोगा राय नाम के दो लोगों की हत्याएं 1995 में हुई थी। इस मामले में आरोप था कि प्रभुनाथ सिंह ने उनके कहे मुताबिक वोट न डालने पर इन लोगों की हत्या करा दी थी। बिहार की महाराजगंज लोकसभा सीट से तीन बार जेडीयू और एक बार आरजेडी के टिकट पर सांसद रह चुके प्रभुनाथ सिंह पर 1995 में मसरख के एक मतदान केंद्र के पास तब 47 साल के दारोगा राय और 18 साल के राजेंद्र राय की हत्या का आरोप था।
हाई कोर्ट से भी हुए थे बरी, फिर SC ने दिया झटका
आरोप था कि दोनों ने प्रभुनाथ सिंह समर्थित कैंडिडेट को वोट नहीं दिया इसलिए उनकी हत्या कर दी गई। मृतक के भाई द्वारा गवाहों को धमकाने की शिकायत के बाद इस केस को छपरा से पटना ट्रांसफर कर दिया गया जहां इसका ट्रायल हुआ। 2008 में पटना की अदालत ने सबूतों के अभाव में प्रभुनाथ सिंह को बरी कर दिया। 2012 में पटना हाईकोर्ट ने भी निचली अदालत के फैसले को सही ठहरा दिया। इसके बाद मृतक राजेंद्र राय के भाई ने फैसले को सुप्रीम कोर्ट में चुनौती दी थी। शीर्ष अदालत से उन्हें बड़ी सफलता मिली और प्रभुनाथ सिंह को दोषी करार दिया गया।
