एम.पी. ट्रांसको (मध्यप्रदेश पावर ट्रांसमिशन कंपनी) ने निवाडी जिले के प्रसिद्ध अंतर्राष्ट्रीय पर्यटन स्थल एवं धार्मिक नगरी ओरछा के लिये करीब 30 कि.मी. लंबाई की 132 के.व्ही. पृथ्वीपुर-ओरछा लाइन एवं 132 के.व्ही. सबस्टेशन ओरछा तैयार किया है। ऊर्जा मंत्री प्रद्युमन सिंह तोमर ने बताया कि करीब 34.7 करोड़ रुपये की अनुमानित लागत से निर्मित इस लाइन और सबस्टेशन को ऊर्जीकृत किया गया है। इस महत्वपूर्ण लाइन एंव सबस्टेशन को 50 एम.व्ही.ए. क्षमता के पावर ट्रांसफार्मर के साथ मुख्यालय जबलपुर स्थित स्काडा कंट्रोल सेंटर रिमोट से ऊर्जीकृत किया गया। अब ओरछा क्षेत्र को 30 किलोमीटर की जगह 4 किलोमीटर से विद्युत सप्लाई होगी।
तोमर ने बताया कि नवनिर्मित 132 के.व्ही. पृथ्वीपुर- ओरछा लाइन एवं सबस्टेशन के निर्माण से ओरछा एवं प्रतापपुरा क्षेत्र के करीब 11 हजार विद्युत उपभोक्ताओं के साथ ओरछा के विभिन्न पर्यटक एवं धार्मिक स्थलों को उचित गुणवत्ता की कम व्यवधान के साथ विद्युत उपलब्ध हो सकेगी।
उल्लेखनीय है कि पहले 33 के.व्ही. के फीडर की लंबाई 30 किलोमीटर होने तथा इसके पृथ्वीपुर एवं ओरछा के मध्य सघन रिजर्व फॉरेस्ट के साथ, नदियों और पहाड़ों के बीच से गुजरने के कारण सुधार कार्य में बहुत कठिनाईयों का सामना करना पड़ता था। अब इस नये सबस्टेशन के बनने से जहाँ बरसात आदि प्राकृतिक कारणों से होने वाले व्यवधानों में कमी आयेगी वहीं सुधार कार्य जल्द पूरा करने में भी मदद मिलेगी।
